Sports Committee – January 2019

The Green Bay Packers did not live up to expectations in 2018. The 2019 season is just 8 months away. Plenty of time to right the ship. The Chicago Bears, on the other hand, are doing very well. Maybe this is their big year. Time will tell.
There will be a Super Bowl party here at the lodge on February 3rd, kick off is at 5:25 pm in Atlanta. We will be having a chili cook-off hosted by the Velodrome bike racing teams. More details to follow. Baseball spring training starts 2 weeks later. Joe Matteucci and friends hosted the game day parties. The Monday night pool season is finishing up the current session. Ron and Darla Kramer chair the league and will report the results next month.
Josh Bower scored a break and run on December 17 in the Monday / Wednesday AM pool league. Andy Burger is the chairman.
State pool this year is in Racine on January 12, 2019. Our club will have several teams entered and always room for more. Enter online or get an entry blank on our bulletin board in the front lobby.
State bowling rolls in March. Get information online or see the next newsletter for the shinny on the bowling. Entry blanks in the front lobby.
After the holidays is a good time to give a little thought to Spring and Summer. Our lodge has lots of room for more horseshoes, BAGGO, and golf. See AD Rich Smart or any board member or myself with your ideas. One thing we do not have is an evening golf league. If anyone is interested in being a chairperson let me know.
Notes: I’m honored that I was chosen to be the Moose of the Year for Kenosha, thanks to you all.
