News From Your Senior Regent – November 2021

November, the month we express our thanks for all that we are blessed with and look for ways to be a blessing to others. We are so grateful for our volunteers. Thank you for all that you do. The best way to build a sisterhood is working together for a greater good, and what is more important than the children and seniors in our care at Mooseheart and MooseHaven?

In early October, 86 Wisconsin WOTM (Women of the Moose) Chapter members came together in Rice Lake, WI for the inaugural Chapter Rally Days. We shared meals, were educated on chapter-specific topics, and had a lot of fun, you might have already seen pictures of the fashion show on Facebook. Through our fundraising efforts, in one day, we were able to make a donation in the amount of $2,291.00 to the Wisconsin Breast Cancer Coalition. We also donated $1,350.04 to Moose Charities. Moose Proud!!!

We had a nice turnout for our Christmas in October meeting. Thank you to all that donated. We raised $277 for Mooseheart and $268 for MooseHaven. The Christmas cookie contest also raised $40.90 and was a delicious fundraiser. Congrats to Bonnie Price on earning fan favorite!

Our November service project is filling purses for Women’s and Children’s Horizons. Purses will be handed out at our November 2nd Chapter meeting and should be returned to the meeting on December 7th. Please fill these purses with new items such as lotions, soaps, makeup, jewelry, and a note of encouragement, nothing too specific, but something to let them know that you are thinking about them. These bags will be a great blessing for these women during this rough season of their lives.

Our WOTM Quarter Auction is quickly approaching on Saturday, November 13, doors open at 11, the auction starts at noon, we are accepting auction items (new or like-new quality) and vendor spots are filling quickly. Please contact Joanne Horner (847)337-2778 for more information on this event.

On November 27, we are proud to celebrate our newest Collegians, Christine Schneider and Joanne Horner. Please join us. Registration starts at 3 pm, Ceremony at 4 pm and Dinner at 5 pm. Please sign up so that we can get a headcount on the office door or rsvp to chapter155@mooseunits.org. This is a great accomplishment, so please congratulate these women.

Watch for details on the Mooseheart Tree-lighting on December 4th!

Congratulations to our volunteer of the month Debbie Schneider.

Thank you and have a Blessed Thanksgiving,
Kellee Chwala Jr. Past Regent
